Romance is dead? Are you kidding? Quite the opposite, actually. Case in point: you can now get married in a kebab shop. Romance at its finest! Say your vows, share a kiss, and then immediately tuck into a delicious kebab sandwich with garlic sauce and sambal. Or just have one before the vows, too. Gonda and Ewoud (congratulations on your wedding!) can wholeheartedly recommend it.

They celebrated their special day at Karma Kebab, a kebab shop in Utrecht. Does that name sound familiar? That makes sense; this plant-based kebab has become pretty popular lately. And rightly so, because it’s genuinely delicious.

‘How cool would it be to get married here?’

That’s what the soon-to-be newlyweds wondered when they attended the opening of Karma Kebab. Well, very cool indeed. There were just a few obstacles: the kebab shop wasn’t yet an official wedding venue. But it turned out that could be arranged, which means Gonda and Ewoud had the honor of being the first—but definitely don’t have to be the last.

‘And honestly, who wouldn’t want bumper cars, disco balls and kebab at their wedding?’ the couple said about their remarkable choice of venue. Honestly: it does sound absolutely amazing. And people complain about the food at weddings so often; this is the complete opposite. Ideal for snack lovers, vegetarians and even vegans: no separate menu, just everyone eating vegan kebab. And hello, bumper cars? Yes please.
