Tasted and judged: these are the finalists of the Grote Grillworsttest 2025

Keuring Grote Grillworst Test 2025

The finalists of the Grote Grillworsttest 2025 have been announced! During the judging, an expert jury assessed the submitted products on taste, appearance and texture. Due to the addition of the new ‘plain chicken grill sausage’ category, there are more finalists than ever this year.

The Grote Grillworsttest is an initiative of Koninklijke Nederlandse Slagers (KNS), the trade association for artisanal butchers and poultry specialists. For the first time in the history of the Grote Grillworsttest, butchers could have their grill sausage judged in two categories: the traditional ‘plain grill sausage’ made from pork and the new ‘plain chicken grill sausage’ category. This expansion resulted in more participants and finalists than ever before. As in previous years, the ‘plain grill sausage’ category has a top 10.

Tasted cold and hot

The jury members assessed the grill sausages on various components, such as appearance and cut surface, composition, processing, consistency and, of course, smell and taste. The grill sausages were judged both cold and hot. And this resulted in a long list of finalists. “The turnout was enormous! The participants did their utmost to deliver the best possible product, making it difficult for the judges. Surprisingly beautiful and tasty products were submitted,” the jury said.
