The 3 Best Margaritas to Make at Home

To me, this is truly a summer cocktail, so as far as I’m concerned, it can be back on every menu: the Margarita. Still, I noticed that this cocktail wasn’t received enthusiastically everywhere, because many people around me don’t like it. A shame, but also unnecessary; there are so many ways to make a Margarita that there’s really something for everyone.

The website Rob Report listed the three best ones, and I couldn’t agree more. Practice a little, and in no time you’ll be an expert in the Margarita cocktail.

How to make the 3 tastiest Margaritas

1. The Classic Margarita
Well, the version everyone knows — and one that is often unpopular too. This may be because of the orange liqueur used in it; if you use a very cheap version, it immediately ruins your entire cocktail. That’s the secret to making a good classic Margarita; simply use Cointreau, for example.

  • 60ml tequila
  • 15ml lime juice
  • 30ml Cointreau

Put all the ingredients in a shaker and shake for between ten and fifteen seconds. Important: double-strain it before pouring it into a glass.

2. Tommy’s Margarita
This cocktail was created in the ’90s at Tommy’s Mexican Restaurant in San Francisco by Julio Bermejo. If the classic is a little too bitter for you, you could try this one; it’s considerably sweeter and less strong.

  • 60ml tequila
  • 15ml lime juice
  • 20-30ml agave syrup

You can prepare this in the same way as the classic; this one just doesn’t need to be strained.

3. Cadillac Margarita
It’s not entirely clear where this version was actually created; the stories range from Mexico and Texas to Cincinnati. In any case, this one is for alcohol lovers, as it’s quite strong and has a pronounced flavor.

  • 60ml tequila
  • 15ml Dry Curacao
  • 30ml lime juice
  • 20ml agave syrup

Prepare it the same way again, then strain it once before pouring it into the glass. Cheers!
