The Jane closed due to fire

The Jane Antwerpen

Just scored a reservation at The Jane? There’s a chance you’ll get a call saying it’s not going ahead after all. The Antwerp restaurant is closing its doors for a month due to a fire this weekend.

Last Saturday (March 9), a fire broke out in the kitchen of the popular Michelin-starred restaurant during lunch. Fortunately, the fire brigade quickly had the situation under control and no one was injured, but the kitchen did sustain damage. The restaurant is expected to take about a month to get up and running again.

Abrupt ending

Chef Nick Bril apologizes to everyone for whom the fire brought a particularly abrupt end to their meal. They will be contacted as soon as possible, as will everyone with a reservation for the coming month. Fortunately, these people won’t have to press F5 at 8:00 a.m. every day to make a new reservation.

Telling all your guests a few hours in advance that they won’t be able to dine with you after all on Saturday evening is, of course, far from ideal. Fortunately, Antwerp restaurants Spiga d’Oro and L’Epicerie du Cirque offered to accommodate The Jane’s guests that evening. Now that’s what you call collegiality.
