The popcorn hack that will change your life

Despite the fact that popcorn causes the ultimate eating annoyance, it’s a top-notch snack because it’s quick and easy to make, not mega unhealthy and, of course, super tasty. However, I’ve now given up on making popcorn myself; half of it is often burnt and some of the popped corn kernels are rock-hard. Until now. This is the ultimate method and my life will never be the same.

Wat Schaft de Podcast
Ever since FavorFlav’s Steffi recommended the podcast “Wat Schaft de Podcast” in the Favorites section, the entire editorial team has been listening to it. I was happily working with episode 9 playing in the background when the ultimate popcorn hack came up. I tried it at home that very evening and, as it turns out: it works! Perfect popcorn: life is smiling on us again.
Oil, 30 seconds, perfection
Pour a generous amount of oil into a pan and add 3 corn kernels. Set the heat to medium-high and wait until the three kernels pop; then you know the oil is hot enough. Next, remove the pan from the heat and add the remaining corn kernels. Put a lid on it, but in such a way that some steam can still escape. Keep the pan off the heat like this for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, the kernels are almost ready to pop, so put the pan back on the heat to finish the job. Every kernel will pop in no time, without burnt bits and without rock-hard kernels that could break your teeth. Perfect!
Popcorn enthusiast Emma also has a successful way to make popcorn! It’s a little less healthy because of the large amount of oil, but also very effective and deliciously extra greasy. It’s January, so there’s plenty of time for movie nights on the couch. Try both!
The popcorn sky is the limit
After all these hacks, tips and tricks, your popcorn consumption will increase significantly. Luckily, you’ll never run out of things to do with popcorn: there are countless ways to prepare it! Sweet popcorn flavors are of course ideal, but savory variations are delicious too!
