These eight Dutch restaurants secure a spot on OAD’s Top 100 list

Every year, numerous lists are published on which only the very best restaurants manage to secure a spot. Recently, Sergio Herman won big at the Belgian Michelin ceremony and, a first in France!, vegan restaurant ONA received a Michelin star. Today, OAD (Opinionated About Dining) announced its rankings of the best restaurants in Europe, the US and Asia—and these six Dutch restaurants feature on the list.

The jury
Opinionated About Dining is an American platform founded by food connoisseur Steve Plotnicki. It differs from other restaurant guides. According to Steve Plotnicki, OAD’s strength lies in the diversity of opinions. Restaurant visitors around the world can share their opinions about different places to eat. A ranking is then compiled from these results using algorithms. This means that 175,000 reviews from 6,000 foodies worldwide may be taken into account. The algorithm carefully weighs the reviewers’ expertise, experience and critical judgment.
Top 10
As in previous years, the 2020 list is impressive once again. The highest-ranked Dutch restaurant this year is De Librije in Zwolle. It holds 9th (!) place, surrounded by other top restaurants such as Noma 2, Osteria Francescana and restaurant Etxebarri. First place goes to Swedish Restaurant Frantzén by Björn Frantzén, followed by Alchemist, led by Rasmus Munk, and Adreas Caminada’s Schloss Schauenstein in Switzerland.
Also on the list
In addition to De Librije, more Dutch restaurants appear on this notable list.
