This Will Be the Biggest Caribbean Michelin Pop-Up Ever
Not one, not two, not three, but eight Michelin stars will come together on June 6, 7 and 8 at Windows on Aruba restaurant. It promises to become the biggest Michelin pop-up restaurant in the Caribbean.
Star chefs François Geurds (FG Restaurant ** and FG Food Labs *), Erik and Julien van Loo (Parkheuvel **), Edwin Vink (De Kromme Watergang **) and Jermain de Rozario (De Rozario *) — together accounting for eight stars (count them) — will prepare the menu.
Price tag
It will consist of an aperitif with several amuse-bouches, followed by a four-course menu with matching wines. On Thursday, June 6, the chefs will prepare lunch, and on Friday, June 7, and Saturday, June 8, dinner.
Want to experience it? It will cost you around 1,929.00 euros per person. No stress, that includes not only the star-studded dinner, but also the flight, seven nights at an all inclusive resort and two other special dinners.
Feast
The Michelin pop-up is an initiative of Divi Resorts Aruba. By inviting the star chefs, they hope to put Aruba on the map as a gastronomic destination. “This eight-star dinner forms the basis for an annual event that, besides being a wonderful feast, also has educational value for the entire restaurant community in Aruba,” said Alex Nieuwmeyer, managing director of Divi Resorts Aruba, in De Restaurantkrant.
