Victoria Beckham has been eating the same thing for 25 years and I have questions

If I discover something new food-wise that I’m absolutely crazy about, I can really gorge myself on it. But at some point it becomes a case of overkill and the frequency returns to normal. Eating the same thing for days, weeks or even (the horror) months: not for me. But Victoria Beckham swears by it. She’s been eating the same thing for 25 years.

Ehh, excuuuuse me? Twenty-five YEARS?! Her husband David Beckham gave an interview to River Café’s Table 4 podcast and he spilled the beans. But not literally. His wife doesn’t eat beans, after all.

Unpleasant, having a partner who never eats with you

David agrees, because he himself loves food. “I can get quite emotional about food and wine. When I eat something amazing, I want everyone to taste it immediately.” Today is the day I discovered that David Beckham and I actually have quite a lot in common.

“Unfortunately, I’m married to someone who has eaten the same thing for 25 years. Ever since I’ve known Victoria, she’s only eaten grilled fish and steamed vegetables… She actually never deviates from that.”

Seriously, only THAT?!

That sounds incredibly unpleasant to me, and I completely understand why David started that sentence with ‘unfortunately’. And I would never condone cheating, but hallelujah: I’d also be unhappy in a marriage like that. Because it gets even worse: “The only time she ever deviated from it and ate something that was on my plate was when she was pregnant with Harper. And it was truly the most amazing thing ever.”

“It was one of my favorite evenings. I don’t even remember what the food was, but I do know that she never ate it again afterwards.” Could someone check whether David Beckham is doing okay? This seems like a truly terribly unhappy situation to be in. For 25 years. Fish. Steamed (!) vegetables.
