Want! Lidl is selling a paella kit including a pan to make the most delicious paella
Lidl’s shelves are once again full of Spanish and Portuguese specialities. From Spanish cheeses to olives and sardines. And we also came across a new product: a paella kit to make paella at home.
Oh, paella! For me, it’s almost a reason to book a ticket to Valencia as soon as possible. The Spanish city is the birthplace of paella. The rice is prepared here like nowhere else. Here’s a golden tip if you’re heading to Valencia soon: at Casa Carmela on Playa de la Malvarrosa, you can eat paella on the beach with your feet (almost) in the sand. But if you want to make paella at home, you definitely need a special pan. And Lidl just happens to be selling one. The paella kit consists of a paella pan, paella rice, extra virgin olive oil and a paella spice mix. So all you need to do is pick up some fish, or chicken, or both. Paella with vegetables only is also possible (but is it still paella then?).

And then: off to the kitchen! The cooking process is at least as enjoyable as the end result. A glass of wine in hand and the kitchen slowly filling with the most delicious aromas. For example, try paella with lobster, mussels, prawns and langoustines, an Israeli seafood paella or a Caribbean paella.
