Whether we have a hangover, can’t get ourselves moving, are watching for fun or want to learn something: watching food series makes us happy. Recently, we learned how to cook in quarantine with the hilarious Amy Schumer, and Netflix gave us 12 seasons of Anthony Bourdain’s ‘Parts Unknown’. This time, we’re diving into the world of patisserie and savory treats with Paul Hollywood City Bakes.
Feed me sweet
Paul Hollywood is England’s Robèrt van Beckhoven. As a young boy, Paul already spent many hours in the bakery and went on to become a well-known chef and TV presenter. Just like our own Robèrt, Paul can also regularly be seen as a judge on cooking shows, namely in The Great British Bake Off (the English version of Heel Holland Bakt). In his series City Bakes, Paul travels all over the world in search of baking gems from centuries-old family bakeries and hidden bakery gems, while visiting the most luxurious hotels with an impressive baking history.
From Copenhagen to Naples
In every episode, Paul is in a different city and samples plenty of treats. From kanelbulle (cinnamon buns) in Copenhagen to a real pizza margherita at the oldest pizzeria in Naples. You also get a behind-the-scenes look and see how the local bakers (the experts!) make these amazing treats, while Paul shows off his baking skills as well.
