With this amazing cocktail tool, you’ll never run out of inspiration again

Confession: our drinks cabinet is so full of bottles that we don’t actually know exactly what’s lurking in the back row. Sound familiar? I’m convinced that many bottles remain untouched in our lives because we don’t really know what to do with them—and that’s a shame! Enter: a brilliant online tool that means you’ll never run out of inspiration again…

As wonderful as the dark & stormy and the whiskey sour are, sometimes you just want to do something different with that bottle of rum and that bottle of whiskey. Or you have a bottle of vermouth in the cupboard but aren’t really a fan—UNLESS you can mix it into something special with things you already have at home. Or maybe you simply love ginger, and gin too, but how do you make something delicious with them again that doesn’t taste like ginger-scented dish soap? The heroes at Epicurious have your back, and have come up with this fantastic interactive tool that lets you shake 299 (!) different cocktails out of your sleeve (and your shaker):

Click, shake, drink

All you have to do is click on the ingredients you have at home (or fancy), and further options or one or more recipes will appear. Fantastic! To deselect something, simply click the ingredient again, so you can always take a step back or start over.

Endless inspiration

It really is an almost inexhaustible source of inspiration and possibilities, and they’re all thoroughly researched and tested recipes for the most incredible cocktails. Some are new and surprising, while others are rock-solid classics you probably wanted to add to your repertoire anyway.

Making 30 gin mules

Pay close attention to the quantities: some recipes are written as a batch cocktail recipe (which can also be incredibly useful if you’re hosting a party!), so don’t be alarmed if it says you need to juice 23 limes: that’s for 30 cocktails. Just adjust the quantities if you want to make fewer, and don’t worry—most recipes aren’t written for such large quantities.
