KFC continues to surprise us. After the KFC Crocs and the chicken donuts, vegetarians are now being catered to: during National Meat-Free Week, KFC is going fully vegetarian.

No chicken, but Chickenless Chicken

The world first is taking place at the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on Binnenwegplein in Rotterdam. From 9 to 15 March, during National Meat-Free Week, this KFC will be the first and only fully vegetarian KFC restaurant in the world. The extensive vegetarian menu includes Chickenless Fingerfood, Chickenless Boxmeals and the Chickenless Bucket.

KFC for vegetarians

But there is more hot veggie news: on 9 March, the Chickenless Chicken Burger, the first vegetarian KFC burger, will be added to the KFC menu throughout the Netherlands. According to the original KFC recipe, the burger is coated with 11 herbs and spices and deep-fried to create its signature crispy layer.

Chickenless Crispy Tenders test

Was that all? Almost: KFC Binnenwegplein in Rotterdam is also the testing location for the first Chickenless Crispy Tenders in the Netherlands. During National Meat-Free Week, this vegetarian version of the tender will be served in various dishes. If this test is evaluated successfully, KFC is also considering a nationwide rollout of the Chickenless Crispy Tenders. Veggies, eat your heart out!
