Yes: there’s going to be a vegan Magnum

magnum

Good news for vegans and people with lactose intolerance: Magnum is launching vegan ice cream. The same Magnum, the same creamy inside, and yes: the same crackling chocolate coating we all do it for, but dairy-free. And that in two different flavours.

Unilever is responding perfectly to the changing number of vegans in the Netherlands. Whereas there were 16,000 of them twenty years ago, there are now 110,000. Saying goodbye to animal products? Then you had to say goodbye to a bite of such a wonderfully creamy Magnum, but fortunately that’s about to change.

100 per cent vegan

The ice cream is made with pea protein, a plant-based alternative to dairy. This ensures that the ice cream is just as creamy as you’re used to. The Belgian master chocolatiers at Callebaut provide the crunchy coating, because of course that must never be lost.

Where to get it

From March onwards, you can simply get Magnum Classic and Almond at Appie. So just a few more weeks to wait before we storm Albert Heijn en masse. Crack!
