You Don’t Eat This If You Can’t Drink That with It #2

Certain wines go better with some dishes. Everyone also knows – isn’t this scientifically proven? – that a bitterballen tastes better with a cold beer alongside it. But some drink-and-food combinations are a little more remarkable, yet – as many people revealed in the comments under our article ‘8x I don’t eat this if I can’t drink that with it’ – an absolute must for many. Here’s a selection of your bizarre combinations!

Pancakes and alcohol
“I never drink while eating. But when I’ve made pancakes, I always have a beer with them. There’s also a splash of beer in my pancake batter. My mother always drank sparkling wine with pancakes. She said that way she didn’t suffer from the pancakes (heartburn).” This sounds like a very convivial family!
Milk, milk and more milk
We really are wonderfully Dutch; we drink milk with everything. Favorites: milk with pancakes, milk with fries, milk with spicy food and milk with peanut butter. The most bizarre milk drinkers? They like to have kibbeling or roti alongside it!
Specific
“Normally I don’t like milk, but I do after eating a fried egg with a completely intact yolk!” And after eating a fried egg with a broken yolk? What do you drink then?
?
“Black pudding on bread with cold chocolate milk.” Excuse me, I’m just going to grab a basin.
Twice as delicious
“A liverwurst sandwich with a glass of dubbeldrank!” That sounds pretty okay!
Sushti
“Sushi with Fristi!” Pardon?! And I already thought last week’s sushi with cola was disgusting…
4 o’clock, pancake
“A cup of Cup-a-Soup with pancakes.” By far the majority of responses came from people who eat pancakes with a glass (or cup) of milk alongside them. No milk, no pancake. But dear Cup-a-Soup/pancake person; you are unique!
How old, please?
“Chocomel with macaroni.” I hope I’m not offending you, but how old are you? This sounds like a dream for every child under 10!
Delicious!
“Salty licorice and lemonade!” *Runs to the store for salty licorice while calling the dentist to make an appointment*
Burp
“Coke Zero with a brie sandwich!” Wow, I hope there’s no one near you when you let out a burp after this.
