Yes, from 31 May to 3 June, our taste buds can indulge once again: Taste of Amsterdam 2019. Workshops, chefs and: A. Whole. Lot. Of. Food. The choice is huge, but what should you really not miss? These are our favourites this year:

NEFF Chef’s Table

We’ve got a scoop! And what a scoop: the Chef’s Table. A sort of living-room concert in the kitchen of the chefs themselves. Watching Ron Blauw or Julius Jaspers prepare a delicious three-course lunch for you? It’s totally possible! Reservations are already open, so be quick and pull up a chair at your favourite chef’s table.

Pikoteo

This is a tapas bar full of dishes with a modern twist. Baby scallops with bisque sauce? We’re already dreaming about them. Chef Miguel Martín Gómez will tell you all about these exciting tapas. And while you’re there: the gin and tonics are top-notch too.

Ron Gastrobar Indonesia

The restaurant is already an absolute editorial favourite, and we expect it will be no different at Taste. For example, Chef Hermawan serves a taco with spicy Balinese chicken, Bangkok spread and kencur mayonnaise. We can already taste it…

BAUT

It simply can’t be missing from our list. BAUT surprises us every year. They copy-paste the restaurant’s laid-back, pleasant ambiance to the Amstelpark. And we haven’t even mentioned the dishes yet.

Ketel One Vodka Kitchen

We’ve already made it ourselves, without complicated bar tools: a Bloody Mary. During Taste, Ketel One will be getting to work on it too—well, you will, actually. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to juice, slice and season. The end result: a delicious Bloody Mary with your own twist.

Instock

The dishes at Instock restaurant aren’t just delicious; they also help combat food waste. Curious how they turn imperfect produce into a daring vegetable tempura with Szechuan seasoning? Be sure to stop by.

Dylan’s DIY dessert by MOER

At Taste, you can enjoy the most delicious dishes, lunches and dinners… Luckily, there’s always room for dessert. And that’s a good thing. Because Dylan, MOER’s pastry chef, will teach you the finer points of making your own Romanoff dessert. The place to be for the real sweet tooth among us.

Tickets for Taste of Amsterdam can be ordered online for €12.50 (including booking fees). A standard ticket is valid for one of the four days, on a day of your choice. A full-event pass (€17.50) grants access on all days.
