You’ll Really Want to Shop at This Brand-New Mega Lidl Supermarket
A mega supermarket overflowing with fresh fruit and vegetables, an XL bakery, wide aisles (what a relief!) and even a tapas corner packed with the tastiest tapas: you’ll find it all at the biggest Lidl in the Netherlands, which opens its doors on Monday.
We were already Lidl fans anyway. Cheese-and-beer bitterballen, Baileys Magnums and these delicious wines are among our favorite products. We also picked up that double deep fryer and mini dishwasher at the blue-and-yellow supermarket. Now a new Lidl measuring no less than 1,700 square meters is opening. In Zeeland, no less (lucky them!).
Good for people and the planet
Besides its hugely extensive range of food and drinks, the new store also has 484 solar panels on the roof to provide energy and enough charging stations for electric cars. What’s more, it is the first supermarket in the Netherlands that will not sell cigarettes or rolling tobacco (hooray!). Good for people and the planet, then.
