You’ll Want This: Lidl’s New Multifunctional Chopping Board

A chopping board is just a chopping board, you might think. You can perhaps buy them in a fun shape or with a crazy pattern, but that’s it. Just wait until you’ve been introduced to Lidl’s newest multifunctional chopping board. It really exceeds all your expectations.

We don’t just love going to Lidl for cheap groceries (hello inflation!). Their shelves of household products also continue to surprise us. Panther-print kitchen appliances? An entire Silvercrest designer collection? We’re almost putting up our tent outside the store to get our hands on them. The supermarket’s latest innovation is also at the top of our wishlist. Who would have thought you needed this luxury chopping board so badly in your life?
Chopping board with containers
The multifunctional chopping board is by the ERNESTO brand. The board comes with 6 containers that you click onto the sides of the board. These containers are intended to separate your chopped ingredients from the waste. So you chop your vegetables and slide them straight into the containers. Ideal: I always find it incredibly inconvenient to get lots of separate bowls out of my cupboard to put my chopped ingredients in. These plastic containers stack very easily, meaning they take up almost no space in your cupboard. The containers can hang over the edges of the table or be placed flat on your countertop.

Smartphone holder
And then there’s another fantastic invention: the multifunctional Lidl chopping board also comes with a smartphone holder. And no, it isn’t intended for watching a series while chopping (although: we don’t judge). You place your phone in the holder and read the recipe from it while chopping. No more fiddling with your phone, but simply a convenient and safe place for your oh-so-precious possession. Lidl, thank you for this impressive display of genius.
Practical information
The chopping board comes with 6 dishwasher-safe containers—3 large and 3 small—plus a smartphone holder. The board itself measures 45 x 32 x 4 centimetres. It is made of solid bamboo, which is gentle on your knives and offers high cutting resistance. There are non-slip feet underneath the board, and a juice groove runs around the edge. How much does it cost? € 34,99. You can order the chopping board here. Contact your local Lidl store to ask whether they carry it in their range.
