Saigon Caphe in Amsterdam

No energy left to cook? We get it. But good food is a must—never settle for less. That’s why we’re sharing our tips for truly delicious takeaways, the best delivery services and affordable places.

At Saigon Caphe in Amsterdam, you can go for a fantastic Vietnamese meal when money is tight. Their specialty is phở, made with a rich beef broth that they prepare themselves. The soups range from € 11,- to € 13,50 and are so generously filled that you can easily share one between two people.
Comfort food
If you’re worried you’ll still be hungry, the fresh and fried spring rolls are also delicious. The chicken rice porridge is a little like Chinese congee and, for us, the ultimate comfort food. The porridge is basic but very flavourful, and for € 6,50 you get a gigantic bowl.
There are also plenty of other Vietnamese dishes to order, such as bánh xèo, a crispy rice-flour pancake with prawns and chicken. But we definitely also want to try the pork belly with egg and rice and the lemongrass curry with chicken another time.
Three locations
Saigon Caphe has three locations in Amsterdam, on Leidsestraat, at Gelderlandplein and at Central Station. There’s plenty of room to sit down, but we often have it delivered to our home.
