7x summer peaches

As soon as summer arrives, the FavorFlav editorial team starts craving peaches. From July to September, they’re at their juiciest and most flavorful.

Of course, we love eating them straight out of hand or in the morning with our quark and granola. But to make the most of them during the summer months, we also use them in cakes, compotes and cocktails. Here are our favorite peach dishes.
Peach cobbler
An American Southern classic that’s a little like crumble. But with a topping made entirely of dough. Extra crispiness on top and fluffy dough underneath. Make this recipe; a scoop of ice cream is not optional.
Peach melba
Super old-school, but no less delicious for it: peach melba. Peaches are poached in syrup and served with a fresh raspberry sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. See here how to make them in the style of French culinary legend Escoffier.
Grilled peaches
On the barbecue or in a pan, grilled peaches with vanilla mascarpone are always a winner. This recipe takes it a step further with salted caramel sauce.
Compote
In your yogurt, over your ice cream or on the cheeseboard. You’ll want to eat this apple and peach compote with everything.
Chutney
If you’d also like to eat peaches with savory dishes, this chutney is the answer. Spread it on a chicken sandwich, serve it with Indian curry or papadums, or eat it with pork chops.
Sangria
During peach season, the chances of warm weather are high. A refreshing summer drink can never hurt then. For example, make this white sangria with peaches to cool down.
Pie
It looks like an apple pie, with strips of dough on top and crunchy cinnamon sugar. But inside, it’s filled with wonderfully sweet peaches. Quickly make this recipe, add whipped cream and dig in.
