Figs with bacon

An absolute winner every time we serve it: figs with bacon. Add a glass of red wine and you have the perfect snack or a wonderful starter.

What do you need?
Eight slices of bacon, three tablespoons of maple syrup, eight ripe figs, two tablespoons of red wine vinegar and ground red peppercorns.
How to make figs with bacon
Fry the bacon slices in a frying pan for eight to ten minutes and drain. Pour the maple syrup into the pan and add the figs, cut into two pieces. Make sure the figs are lying with the flesh against the bottom of the pan. Fry for about five minutes.
Remove the figs from the pan, place them on a platter and divide the pieces of bacon over the fruit. Add the red wine vinegar to the pan and reduce for about one minute until a syrup forms. Drizzle the figs with this syrup and finish with ground red pepper.
