Most of the time, everything runs smoothly in the kitchen, but sometimes things get completely out of hand. The pizza melts, the oven dish cracks or the pressure cooker explodes. It happens, right? And if it doesn’t happen to you, it’s actually pretty funny too.

Did you know that there are approximately 80,000 house fires in the Netherlands every year? Most house fires don’t start in the kitchen; they’re often caused by a forgotten cigarette (33 percent) or a faulty appliance (30 percent). The fire service also warns against charging devices, such as mobile phones or laptops, on a cushion or in bed. The heat can’t escape—smoke, flames, you know the story. But if these photos are any indication of your kitchen skills, I wouldn’t worry too much about charging devices or a misplaced cigarette anymore.

Don’t put Styrofoam in the microwave
