What do you think you eat in a day? Whether it’s cocktail peanuts or deep-fried kale, on average every Dutch person consumes 3.1 kilos per day (source: RIVM), including drinks. We’re all eating that at home now, because the hospitality industry is closed, so grabbing a sandwich out isn’t an option for the time being. During the coronavirus pandemic, people did start cooking more elaborate meals at home, and lunch is getting more attention too. But we don’t take it as far as the sandwich monsters created by artist Kasia Haupt.
