The Air Fryer is much more than a deep fryer 2.0. Thanks to these Air Fryer tips, you have a versatile mini kitchen at your disposal. Whether you’re going for fresh bread, a juicy steak, cookies or pizza: your Air Fryer proves time and again that it’s a true all-rounder.

1. Baking bread in the Air Fryer

That’s right: you can bake bread in your Air Fryer. The only thing you need is a small baking tin. Naturally, the dough does need to rise, but after that the Air Fryer does the rest. Ideal as a distraction during your work-from-home day, and the result—soft, fragrant, fresh bread—is a reward that will make you happy.

2. Steak from the Air Fryer

Maybe, like us, you’re used to following the tips for cooking the perfect steak and spooning melted butter over it in the pan. But you can also cook a super-tender, juicy steak in an Air Fryer. Bonus: you can add extra herbs or spices for more flavor, and your kitchen stays cleaner than when you’re splattering butter.

3. Be careful with dried herbs

And speaking of that: dried herbs and spices are not a good match for the Air Fryer. They fly everywhere in the circulating air instead of staying on your food. The solution: always mix your herbs with a little oil. Think of mixing a spoonful of oil into some homemade dukkah and spreading it over chicken thighs or carrots. That way, you’ll have a crispy, flavorful meal in no time.

4. Fresh cookies whenever you want

You no longer need to turn on the oven for a few cookies. With the Air Fryer, you can simply bake two or three—perfect with your coffee or at any other moment. Smart tip: freeze your cookie dough in small portions. Take a few out in the morning and bake them straight away in the afternoon, because many cookies are even tastier when the dough is still cold.

5. Make a little pizza in no time

Frozen pizza is passé (well, except for these two fantastic frozen pizzas). With some pizza dough from the freezer and a few simple toppings, you can make a quick pizza in your Air Fryer. Tomato sauce, mozzarella, perhaps some anchovies or olives, and within half an hour you’ll be sitting on the sofa with a homemade pizza. Add a glass of wine and you have a mini trattoria in your living room.

6. Cook eggs (without water)

Cooking eggs in the Air Fryer? Yes, you can! Simply place them in the basket, set the timer and wait patiently. For hard-boiled eggs, allow around 15 minutes; for soft-boiled eggs, around 10. Then briefly cool them in cold water, and you’ll have eggs without the hassle of pans or simmering water. Perfect for a quick lunch or a platter of deviled eggs with drinks.

7. Oil is your best friend

One of the biggest misconceptions is that you no longer need any oil at all when using an Air Fryer. Not true. In fact, a small amount of oil is what makes your food crispy and flavorful. Toss vegetables, fries or meat briefly with a spoonful of oil, or use a fine baking spray. The difference is enormous—trust us.

Air Fryer tips: feel free to share them

With these tips, the Air Fryer goes from snack appliance to fully fledged kitchen hero. Bread, cookies, steak, pizza, eggs: there’s almost nothing this thing can’t do. And all of it faster and often more cleanly than in an oven or pan.

So yes: fries and chicken nuggets are still great, but anyone who knows these Air Fryer tips will discover that a world of possibilities is waiting to be explored.
