A delightful night out: at De Dessertclub, you eat seven courses… of desserts!

De Dessertclub is the first dessert only restaurant in the Netherlands. Yes, you read that right: a restaurant where you eat nothing but desserts. It gets even better: seven courses of desserts!

In New York, Berlin and Bali, it’s a tried-and-tested concept: a restaurant where you can eat nothing but desserts. In fact, the über-hip CODA* in Berlin is even so good that the remarkable dessert restaurant has a Michelin star.

No mille-feuille
And just like at CODA, at De Dessertclub you don’t order à la carte; instead, there is a special tasting menu of seven dessert courses by top pastry chef Bart de Gans. Don’t expect to be served a mille-feuille or crème brûlée (also delicious, by the way); the (incredibly friendly!) staff serve sophisticated desserts with a perfect balance of flavour, aroma, colour and textures.

Don’t worry that you’ll leave the premises (the former Zwitsal factory, an amazing location) feeling sick; the desserts aren’t cloyingly sweet. The dishes—each one a refined and unique creation with surprising, experimental flavour explosions—make as much use as possible of natural sugars and sweeteners, preventing a sugar bomb.

Steak made from chocolate
And sometimes you’re completely led astray. For example, they serve a steak made from… chocolate as the main course! Because of the different flavours, you don’t feel at all as though you’re eating nothing but desserts; it really is a meal-replacing menu.

Lovely atmosphere
Dining at De Dessertclub is a delightful night out, even—truly—even if you don’t have a sweet tooth. Apart from the beautiful and delicious desserts, the atmosphere and service are wonderfully welcoming. A seven-course experience at De Dessertclub costs €69.50, with the option to add a wine or cocktail pairing (also alcohol-free). A completely new autumn menu will be available from the beginning of October.
