Twix powder exists, and you can make BBQ sauce with it too!

When we say ‘chicken with chocolate’, do you say IIEEUUWW? Or do you say ‘yes please, that traditional Mexican chicken in mole sauce, for example—that’s a truly beautiful, layered and complex taste experience’..? If you can’t quite choose between these two answers, definitely read on, because this might just be the perfect compromise for you:

Because Twix (who doesn’t know those ridged double biscuit-caramel-chocolate bars?) has come up with something new: their famous flavor combination in powder form, in a shaker! And while you might immediately think of ice cream sundaes, pancakes and brownies that would come to life with a sprinkle of this stuff on top, the makers themselves have another very different and special tip!
Sweet with savory
For anyone who dares to think a little outside the box—and this is actually a fairly accessible tip—Twix and parent company B&G Foods have come up with the following: a barbecue sauce containing ketchup and chipotle, among other things, plus that Twix ‘seasoning blend’. They call it a bold twist on traditional BBQ sauce, and would love for you to try it on grilled chicken wings or drumsticks!
Tjin’s has everything
Now, that may not be so easy to achieve at first, because the stuff isn’t normally sold in stores here. If you have a shop selling American products nearby, you can try there, but we have another tip: At Tjin’s Toko, one of our favorite shops for international products, they also sell the pickles I’m addicted to, from the same B&G Foods! So we think that sending Tjin’s a message with a small plea to order a batch of this Twix powder might just mean that you’ll soon be eating chicken wings with BBQ Twix sauce! Or, for example, fried cauliflower florets with the sauce, if you’d rather leave the little chickens in peace…
This is the recipe Twix and B&G Food provide, and if you do manage to get your hands on this stuff, please show us your creations!
