A Sandwich at Disney? It Costs More Than You Think!

At Disney World, you can see Mickey Mouse, give Pluto a high five, spin around in the teacups and: grab a bite to eat. That is, if you have enough money in your account, because a new sandwich on the menu at Disneyland Resort in California costs one hundred dollars. Um, what?

Two new themed restaurants are opening at Disneyland Resort in California in early June. Pym Test Kitchen is based on the Ant-Man films, in which scientists experiment with making people grow and shrink. And the giant sandwich is on the menu there, for which you have to fork out one hundred dollars.
Instagram-worthy
It probably feels as if you have shrunk to the size of an ant when you have such a gigantic sandwich in front of you. It is an enormous focaccia, topped with salami and ham, provolone and sun-dried tomatoes, served with a delicious dipping sauce and an arugula salad. Why is such an expensive sandwich on the menu? Because it is Instagram-worthy, says travel expert Len Testa. ‘Everything on the new menu was created to look good in photos; that is at least as important as the taste.’
Steakhouse
Want to spend a lot of money at Disney? Then you can also go to their steakhouse, where you can order a porterhouse steak for two people for 138 dollars (the equivalent of 110 euros). You will at least be seated at a set table, with neat napkins and a waiter wearing a jacket. Quite a contrast with Pym Test Kitchen, because that is a takeaway restaurant à la McDonald’s—you have to collect your food yourself at a counter and clear your own table. Perhaps good to know: the Pym-ini, that sandwich for giants, is intended for six to eight people.
