According to research, coffee lovers should drink from white mugs
This week I already wrote about how the texture of something can influence your taste experience, but the color also makes a big difference. For example, a certain color can make your food or drink taste sweeter, or more bitter. And when it comes to coffee, there is one color that makes your coffee taste the strongest.
According to research, the color white brings out the bitterness in coffee, so true coffee lovers would be happiest drinking from a white mug. That gives you the best chance of enjoying a good, strong cup.

Want to get rid of that sweetness, or the sugar in your coffee? Then try drinking from a blue or red mug — those colors are apparently supposed to make your coffee taste sweeter. One possible theory is that these colors are often associated with sweet fruit, so your brain thinks the coffee tastes sweeter.
Don’t have anything white at home, but craving strong coffee? Then look for a brown mug. Apparently, people also base the intensity of a flavor on the color of the product. Coffee is black/brown, so a brown mug would only make that flavor more intense. And yes, this should also work with red wine in a red glass, for example. In any case, it’s worth trying.
