Addictively delicious: Lidl’s chocolate-covered pistachios

Pistachios with milk chocolate—you don’t see that very often. And yet, you’ll want to run to the store for them right now. Lidl has them (temporarily) in its Italiamo range. In some stores, they’re already sold out (I know, because I went on a scavenger hunt). But maybe you’ll have better luck. See them on the shelves? Stock up, is my advice.

Sure, chocolate peanuts are absolutely delicious, and the same goes for hazelnuts coated in chocolate. But pistachios with chocolate—that’s a whole different level.
Pistachios forever
Is it the bite, or the flavor? The buttery, sweet pistachio is everywhere these days. From delicious Pesto di pistacchi to
pistachio paste—the latter is even called Italy’s green gold.
And I’d love to see chocolate-covered pistachios more often too. Preferably even salted pistachios dipped in chocolate—that sounds even more delicious to me than the chocolate-covered pistachios Lidl sells.

Empty in one go
But honestly: they’re addictively delicious too. A 150-gram bag costing €2.99 is pricey, but pistachios are never cheap. And yes, you’ll finish that bag in one go, even if you do have some willpower. But who cares. Look outside—it’s still raining. Crunchy pistachios covered in creamy milk chocolate? You need this!

Pistachios are healthy
And above all, don’t feel guilty afterward, because you can easily put this binge into perspective. Pistachios are incredibly healthy. They contain beta-carotene, lutein and zeaxanthin, three carotenoids linked to having good eyesight. They’re also rich in vitamin E and anti-inflammatory antioxidants. Bingo.
