A really delicious cup of coffee? You don’t have to fork out a dizzying 3.75 euros at just any coffee shop for that. You can also go to Jumbo for great coffee. Their Filter Coffee Aroma has won a prize at the Superior Taste Awards. It received no fewer than two stars. And I can tell you… It really is addictively delicious.

With this win, Jumbo was able to make a little more room in its trophy cabinet. The Wapenaer cheese, the small apple pie with butter crust and the semi-skimmed chocolate milk also won prizes. And that’s just a selection of the winners. Well done, Jumbo!

A pleasant, smooth finish

My day doesn’t begin until the coffee maker is humming away. Yes, I dutifully eat my breakfast first, but that cup of coffee has to be ready and waiting. Only after coffee does my engine start running. I enjoy experimenting with different types of coffee, but I keep coming back to Jumbo Filter Coffee Aroma. The coffee is a medium-roasted and balanced blend of Arabica and Robusta beans. You mainly taste fruit and a hint of milk chocolate. That combination makes the coffee wonderfully full-bodied, with a very pleasant, smooth finish.

Even better: Jumbo Filter Coffee Aroma is 100% sustainably certified. Extra attention has been paid to quality, working conditions and the environment.

Superior Taste Awards

What does it actually mean to win a prize at the Superior Taste Awards? Quite a lot. Every year, around 100 top chefs and sommeliers from all over the world come together for the Superior Taste Awards to taste, smell, look and ultimately judge. The competition is 100% independent. That’s what gives it such prestige, and why winning a Superior Taste Award is so highly valued. The jury awards a number of stars when a product achieves a score of 70% or higher. A three-star rating is the highest classification possible at the Superior Taste Awards; Jumbo Filter Coffee Aroma was awarded two stars.

Cooking with coffee

Good news: research shows that four cups of coffee a day promote kidney health. So go ahead and have another one. Or two. Or make tiramisu with it. Or coffee butter. Or coffee mousse. Or, also incredibly delicious: try making a coffee rub for your spareribs. Yep, you can get cooking (coffee).
