ALDI vouchers? Don’t fall for it
In these times, with sky-high inflation and grocery prices that almost make you convulse, it’s an appealing idea to be able to wave some vouchers when paying. But be careful with those from ALDI, because they are often… fake.
ALDI itself is warning people about this, because it turns out that online, via fake emails and fake websites, for example, promotions and surveys regularly circulate offering so-called ALDI vouchers as prizes, which you could supposedly use to buy groceries at ALDI. ‘However, ALDI is in no way involved with these vouchers and therefore does not recognise them’ – according to ALDI itself.
Malicious parties
As far as ALDI has been able to determine, these fake vouchers are generally offered by malicious parties, probably to steal your personal data. ALDI therefore advises you not to request any vouchers and not to register or leave your details for such vouchers.
If you suspect that the vouchers are fake, do not click on the email or website, but report this fraud to the Fraudehelpdesk. If you have already provided your personal details, you can also report it to the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
ALDI promotions online
Webshops offering ALDI products for sale are fake too. ALDI never sells products online, so if ALDI products are offered for sale online, it is almost certainly a scam. ALDI only sends emails from an email address ending in @aldi.nl. In addition, ALDI promotions online can always be found at aldi.nl.
