At the new Ruby Rose in Utrecht, enjoy delicious food at a great price in a fan-tas-tic interior

The brand-new restaurant and wine bar Ruby Rose in the heart of Utrecht is completely hip and happening! No surprise: the interior is fan-tas-tic and stimulating, and you can also enjoy good food and drinks at a great price!

Ruby Rose recently opened at the former location of cocktail bar Zussen, opposite Utrecht’s Janskerkhof. That this restaurant and wine bar is the new hotspot of the Domstad is clear: at weekends, there is usually a queue of people trying to get a table (reservations are not possible!). You may know The Streetfood Club and The Rum Club in Utrecht: they have the same owner. So at least you know you’re in good hands here!
Fresh, crisp & easy-drinking
The wine list is fairly extensive, but above all, it is clearly organised by flavour. Think: ‘Fresh, Crisp & Easy-drinking’ whites and ‘Wild, Exciting & Mineral’ reds, just to name two categories. And conveniently, you can also order non-alcoholic wine.

Cheerful floral print
More than a hundred years ago, the Ruby Rose building served as a flower shop, and that is clearly reflected in the interior: almost everything features a cheerful floral print. From the paintings on the ceiling to the upholstery, menus and tableware. Another striking feature is the enormous bar in the middle of the venue, filled with flowers and plants. Fun fact: you can also enjoy a meal at this bar, which is exactly what many people do!

Enrich your platter
The generously topped lunch platters are delicious, such as the ‘Il Pranzo’, featuring focaccia, burrata, San Daniele ham, panzanella salad and Italian cheese, which you can further enrich with pata negra and oysters. Or how about the pizzas, charcuterie, cheeses and various carpaccios?

International allure
The owners wanted to create a venue unlike anything else in Utrecht, with the allure of Paris and New York—and they succeeded!
