Cheers: these European cities have the cheapest beers
I was talking about it with friends just the other week: the days when beer was still affordable. When you paid 80 cents for a lager during happy hour . Those good old days… How different is it now? You almost have to be a millionaire for an evening of drinking beer with friends these days! But wait: not if you plan your weekend with friends in one of the following European cities. You can still buy beer there at old-fashioned bargain prices.
Getting absolutely plastered while knowing your savings account is still nicely topped up? It does feel a little better.
Minsk: the most affordable beers
You’ll find the absolute cheapest beer in Minsk. That’s the capital of Belarus, in case geography wasn’t your strongest subject. There, you pay just €1.05 for a beer. Can you imagine?! Minsk also seems to be a fun city. Somehow, it’s incredibly clean and becoming increasingly modern: more and more bars, restaurants, clubs and art galleries are opening.
Looking at the rest of the top 10, we see that you mainly need to stay in Eastern Europe to drink cheaply:

Dutch prices
Those are certainly different prices from the ones here in the Netherlands… Fancy beer and bitterballen, but don’t feel like crossing the border? These Dutch cities have the cheapest beer and bitterballen. No, it absolutely doesn’t compare to a Prague lager or a cold beer from Skopje, but hey. We’ll make do.
