Childhood memory: do you remember Spoetnik?

Ah, the good old days! When cigarettes still stood in cups on the table, you ate AVG seven days a week, and we had no idea that sugar causes cavities. Speaking of those days, do you remember Spoetnik?

I have to admit that I’m going back quite a long way in time now. Spoetnik was already being drunk in the seventies. It was still fairly popular in the decades that followed, but these days you hardly ever hear about it anymore. That’s not so strange when you know exactly what Spoetnik is.
Spoetnik: the mother mafia’s nightmare
Spoetnik consists of three things: coffee creamer, sugar and soda. Can you already feel the sugar kicking in as you read this? Well, imagine what it’s like for children. But as I said; in the past, we were a little less concerned with the fact that sugar isn’t exactly good for us. If you give your children and their friends Spoetnik now, you’re bound to have the mother mafia after you.
How to make a Spoetnik
Joking aside: Spoetnik really is next level. You make it by pouring a generous splash of coffee creamer into a glass, adding two teaspoons of sugar and topping it off with soda. Cola is popular, but if you want to do it in a truly seventies way, go for Gazeuse lemonade. (We remember that one too, right?)
You end up with a gigantic, foamy glass of sugar, fat and fizz. Very tasty, but also very bad for you. At any rate, it made me feel sick in no time. Why could you always handle this much better as a child?
Everything was better in the past
Does Spoetnik sound a little strange? Well, if we’re to believe you, there’s much more weird food that we all used to enjoy. Everything was better in the past… Except for the health of our teeth, probably.
