Coca-Cola pulls new permanent flavor from shelves already

Coca-Cola regularly comes up with new flavors that, um… don’t always go down well. The latest flop? Coca-Cola Raspberry Spiced Zero Sugar, or simply Spiced. Spiced was introduced in February 2024 and was supposed to be a permanent addition to the range. But just six months after its launch, Coca-Cola is already pulling this flavor from the shelves. Why?

Coca-Cola Spiced
For those unfamiliar with Coca-Cola Spiced, it’s a mix of classic cola with a hint of raspberry and spices, specially created for Gen Z (the generation born between 1997 and 2012). Zoomers, as they’re also called, were found in Coca-Cola research to prefer raspberry varieties and choose more intense flavors more often. But unfortunately, the Spiced variety turns out not to be a hit. This cola is also anything but spicy, as the name suggests.
Even more crazy cola flavors
Coca-Cola regularly introduces new flavors, by the way. Do you remember the Coca-Cola Zero they made with AI? Or the recent variety with Oreo? We didn’t actually find the latter as strange as it sounds. In any case, this isn’t the first time Coca-Cola has introduced a flavor that fails to catch on. Cherry Vanilla will soon no longer be available either.
I’m not really into those crazy flavors myself. Just give me a good old Diet Coke. But Coca-Cola isn’t discouraged; another new flavor is already coming in 2025. Exciting, or maybe not? We’ll see!
And do you still want to try Spiced? You can simply buy it online, for example from Candyonline, where a can costs €2.25.
