The restaurant in Zwolle was also on the famous list in 2016. Last year, they just missed the list: they came in 51st. But they’re back! And of course, we wholeheartedly agree. It’s not for nothing that we crowned them winners of the FavorFlav Food Top 100 2018.

First place

The French three-Michelin-starred restaurant Mirazur in Menton, run by Argentine chef Mauro Colagreco, took first place this year, joining acclaimed restaurants such as Osteria Francescana (2018) and Eleven Madison Park (2017). Noma from Copenhagen came in second, and Asador Etxebarri from Axpe, Spain, third.

Want to grab a bite at the new number one? Then you’ll need patience, because the restaurant is fully booked for the next few months. But once you’ve managed to secure a table, you can expect dishes such as salted beets (from its own garden) with caviar cream, fresh eggs with smoked eel and hazelnuts, and a potato brioche with molten egg and white truffle. Oh, and a tip from the jury: the ginger bread, served with a poem by Pablo Neruda.
