Dr. Oetker launches vegetarian and vegan frozen pizzas
While people in Hoek van Holland queue up for the first Dutch pizza vending machine, we’re putting a pizza in the oven ourselves. And not just any frozen pizza, but one with a spinach base.
We know perfectly well that nothing beats a real wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, but for those moments when you don’t have time to get one but are craving a warm serving of comfort food, a frozen pizza really isn’t a bad option. In fact, a Dr. Oetker can be incredibly delicious.
For example, FavorFlav’s Wieke swears by the Dr. Oetker Ristorante Bolognese pizza: ‘It may not sound particularly appealing, but I really love this pizza. It doesn’t taste like Bolognese, or anything else Italian – and I couldn’t even tell you exactly what it does taste like. But it’s so delicious every once in a while!’
Another hit, this time with Snackspert, is Dr. Oetker’s Diavola pizza: ‘You can basically see the Diavola as a spicy version of the pepperoni pizza… which is easy to explain with those jalapeños on the pizza. But hey, it’s genuinely delicious. Crispy thin crust, plenty of tomato sauce on top, and nicely spicy.’
Good Baker pizzas
Enough about Dr. Oetker’s ‘regular’ pizzas, because a number of vegetarian and vegan frozen pizzas have been launched. They’re called The Good Baker pizzas, and you can find them in three different varieties:
The Good Baker – Spinach & Pumpkin Seeds – 100% plant-based
That’s right, a vegan pizza with a crispy oat-flake crust. Topped with spinach, pumpkin seeds, marinated tomatoes, red onion and a plant-based cheese alternative.
