Two-Michelin-star chef Soenil Bahadoer of De Lindehof** is known for his incredible dishes featuring Surinamese and Indian ingredients that come together in the ultimate flavour combination. Alongside fantastic vegetarian rendang, for example, he also makes the best bara in the country. Taking place in November 2025, the journey offers a select group of enthusiasts the chance to follow Soenil as he searches for new culinary inspiration in the Far East. “Japan continues to amaze me time and time again. Its rich culture, unparalleled hospitality and refined cuisine make it one of the most impressive culinary destinations in the world,” says Soenil Bahadoer.
A culinary voyage of discovery
The journey begins in Tokyo, where Soenil takes you to famous markets, authentic restaurants and hidden eateries. The route continues to Kyoto, known for its centuries-old temples and traditional Japanese gardens, and ends in Osaka. Throughout the journey, you will learn all about the local cuisine. You will discover the philosophy behind Japanese dishes, the influence of the seasons and the art of presentation.
Once in a lifetime
In addition to the culinary highlights, the journey also offers the opportunity to discover Japan’s rich culture, from centuries-old temples and mystical Japanese gardens to Tokyo’s modern flair. The group journey is limited to a select number of participants, giving Soenil Bahadoer sufficient time and space to personally guide and inspire everyone in the group.
