Favorite pans from Michelin-starred restaurants now also available in the Netherlands

Ooh, this is making us greedy! The HexClad pans used in many Michelin-starred restaurants are now also available in the Netherlands. What makes HexClad pans so special is that they are made of stainless steel with a non-stick coating, and without Teflon. This unique combination provides an unparalleled cooking experience, according to fans.

HexClad has gained worldwide fame (among others, Gordon Ramsay is a big fan) by combining the benefits of stainless steel and a non-stick coating, making them suitable for all types of stovetops, including induction. They are oven-safe up to 260 °C and have handles that stay cool. That is quite a bit better than what I have in my kitchen cupboard.
Distinctive pan pattern
The pans are made up of three layers: an aluminium core between two layers of stainless steel. The stainless steel makes the pan durable and resistant to high temperatures, while ensuring even heat distribution. The laser-etched non-stick surface—with its distinctive hexagonal pattern—is made from a mix of ceramic and titanium, requires little oil, prevents food from sticking and makes the pans easy to clean. I don’t know about you, but I’m immediately sold.
Scratch-resistant
But what I find bizarre is that you don’t have to be careful with silicone spatulas or wooden ladles when stirring in the pan. The scratch-resistant pans can handle metal spatulas, are dishwasher-safe and can even be cleaned with scouring pads or steel wool. Bizarre, right!
So, is there not a single downside? Well, yes, there is. The price. But that’s not surprising, of course, because a good pan is worth its weight in gold—and comes with a price tag. I’m going to start saving for the Hybrid pan; it seems like exactly the all-rounder my kitchen is still missing. And I’ll easily recoup that €209, because with good pans, cooking suddenly becomes much more fun than going out to eat. #nospon
