Just a stone’s throw from the Drenthe village of Meppel lies the historic old cheese factory from 1894. From the outside, the building is still almost exactly as it was back then, including the chimney, name on the facade and loading areas for the trucks. Over the years, the place has of course been updated here and there. Instead of one large warehouse with machinery and storage areas, it has been transformed into a home with a total of 6 rooms and 1 bathroom, plus an incredible view over the Drenthe meadows.
The smell of fresh young matured cheese and butter probably won’t linger there anymore, but that doesn’t make the place any less spectacular. Interested? For a price of 550,000 euros, the place could be yours. It’s not cheap, but hey, at least you’ll be living in a prime location!
