Hot news: McDonald’s is launching spicy nuggets and a new McFlurry

Oooh, Maccie. Delicious—you always know what to expect from them. Always the same quality, whether you think that’s good or not (I’m clearly in the first category). And every now and then they come up with a new item on the menu, and it’s always so brilliantly thought out that everyone is bound to get excited. The only small point of criticism is that the McRib in the Netherlands still hasn’t returned… But they’re working on it.

Okay, one more point of criticism, then: in America, they once served chicken nuggets with Szechuan sauce, which became a huge success thanks to the television series Rick and Morty. And they haven’t brought those back to the menu either. Maybe someday, because I love Szechuan and, of course, it’s a great combo with chicken nuggets.

This comes pretty close

But oh happy day, because their new chicken nuggets do come fairly close to those Szechuan nuggets… I’m delighted to introduce you to the newest item on the menu: Spicy chicken nuggets with Mighty Hot Sauce. YES, doesn’t this sound absolutely delicious? The chicken nuggets are made extra spicy by adding cayenne and chili peppers to the tempura coating, and that Mighty Hot Sauce does indeed sound insanely hot: a mixture of red peppers and chili peppers.

Cool things down

It all sounds pretty spicy, and of course that needs to be cooled down. Not with that delicious McDonald’s Coke, but with a McFlurry. And yes, that’s new on the menu too: McDonald’s is introducing the Chips Ahoy!® McFlurry—in other words, vanilla ice cream with caramel topping and Chips Ahoy!® pieces mixed in. Have you, like me, never heard of Chips Ahoy!®? That’s entirely possible, because it’s a British cookie brand.

And then we immediately come to the biggest downside… For now, these two items are only available in the United States, starting September 16. And dear McDonald’s, I have a lot to say about that. In your statement, you say that demand for spicy chicken was very high. It is! HERE TOO. So do us a favor and bring them to your locations here as well. We’ve earned that in times like these.
