How much does that cost? This is the most expensive milk in the world

What does a carton of milk cost at the supermarket, one or two euros? It can get much crazier, because there is milk that sells for dozens or even hundreds of euros per litre. Didn’t know?

Donkey milk
Cleopatra bathed in it, you drink it: donkey milk is extremely rare and supposedly incredibly healthy. It is more similar to breast milk than cow’s or goat’s milk, so people who are allergic to dairy can tolerate this milk well. It also contains more lactic acid, which is good for your stomach, and more trace elements. And if you don’t drink it, spread it on your face instead: it’s good for wrinkles. Apparently. The milk is seriously expensive, though – if you can find it anywhere at all. It is sold in America for 60 to 130 dollars per litre. An average donkey gives only one litre a day, which explains the high price.
Nakazawa milk
A Japanese speciality. Made from cows, but it is far from ordinary: the milk comes from cows that are milked only once a week, at sunrise. Within six hours of milking, the milk is already in the bottle, so all its components remain optimally preserved. And the milk is full of melatonin, which is the trick. This milk is specially made for people who experience a lot of stress and want to reduce it. Melatonin helps with that – at least according to the producer of Nakazawa milk. Want to buy it? More than 40 dollars per litre.
Camel milk
In Arab countries, a meal of dates and camel milk is apparently the first thing you eat after Ramadan. People with lactose intolerance can tolerate camel milk, and people who are allergic to dairy also do well with camel milk. It lowers your blood sugar level while strengthening your immune system. Miracle milk! How much does it cost? Approximately 10 dollars per litre.
Buffalo milk
It is not only used to make mozzarella; you can also simply drink it: buffalo milk. And it is widely consumed in Asia. Why? Less cholesterol, more calcium, good for your heart, and it helps you stay slim. All that for just 10 dollars per litre, if you can find it anywhere at all.
