It has been researched: eating sweet or savory says a lot about your personality

When you get hungry, do you reach for a bag of salty popcorn or would you rather eat a sea salt caramel bar from your chocolate stash? A new study has discovered that your preference for sweet over savory reveals quite a lot about your personality.

The results of a study involving around 2,000 Americans show that there really is a difference between team sweet and team savory. The only thing they have in common is when they prefer to snack—and that is early afternoon.
Sound familiar?
But if you like sweet foods, chances are you enjoy going to the beach, always share your snacks with friends, are a fan of hip-hop, and have probably binge-watched every romcom. The savory fans? They would rather spend a day shopping, headbang along to seriously loud rock, and prefer to share a little bag of salted peanuts with a date while watching science fiction or a documentary. Hmm… This all sounds very American, but still fun to read, not?
All-in
Let’s take it a step further. According to the data from this study, it is notable that when it comes to breakfast, the preferences are completely reversed. People who like sweet foods would rather have eggs (72%) and bacon (66%) for breakfast, while savory eaters go for fresh fruit (58%) and pancakes (57%).
And people who like salty foods make no secret of their eating habits: if they open a bag of chips, chances are high that it will be empty in no time. Well, duh: of course we all do this—and that’s why that bag of chips is always empty. There, now you know.
