Whether you put it on the table during a BBQ or use it to take a simple lunch to the next level: this sauce makes every other mayo pale in comparison. Juicy burgers, thick fries, roasted potatoes… all perfect for a dollop of Jean Bâton Spicy Truffle Mayonnaise. But this mayo also works brilliantly as an extra flavor bomb on a sandwich. And we’ll prove it to you with this recipe.

Recipe: Steak sandwich with Jean Bâton Spicy Truffle Mayonnaise

Serves: 4 people | Time: ± 25 minutes | Difficulty: if you can light a BBQ, you can make this too

1. Fire up the BBQ
Heat your BBQ to approximately 200–220°C. No BBQ? A grill pan or oven works too, but BBQ = extra flavor.

2. Char the peppers
Place the peppers on the BBQ and turn them regularly until they are soft and charred. Then: put them in a bowl, cover with foil or a plate, and let them sweat for a while. This makes it easy to remove the skin later.

3. Steak time
Season the steaks with salt and pepper. Grill them for 2.5 minutes per side for medium rare. Then let them rest briefly in aluminum foil – essential for keeping them juicy.

4. Toast the bread
Cut the ciabattas in half, brush the inside with olive oil and grill briefly until golden brown.

5. Peel the peppers
Pull the skin off the peppers, remove the seeds and membranes, and cut them into strips or cubes.

6. Slice & stack
Cut the steak into thin slices. Fill the sandwiches with a generous layer of Spicy Truffle Mayonnaise , arugula, slices of steak, pepper, another spoonful of mayo, and grate plenty of Parmesan cheese over the top.

7. Serve
Cut the sandwiches in half, serve with a cold drink, and don’t forget to say: “YES, HELLO, HOW DELICIOUS IS THIS?”
