Lidl is selling a special Tefal pancake pan and it costs next to nothing

As far as we’re concerned, Lidl really is the gift that keeps on giving. If it’s not the brilliant products you didn’t know you needed (hello tabletop barbecue), then it’s the deliciously low prices. This pancake pan fits perfectly into that category.

Do you know that struggle when making pancakes if your pan has sides that are too high? That’s a thing of the past with this luxurious yet extremely reasonably priced Tefal pancake pan. The extra-low rim is ideal for making beautiful golden-yellow pancakes, because flipping the pancake is a piece of cake with this pan.
T-Spot
The Tefal pancake pan features the familiar red Thermo-Spot. The red heat indicator in the middle of the pan clearly tells you when the pan has reached the ideal cooking temperature. At that moment, the red dot turns red, so you know exactly when you can start cooking. And thanks to the non-stick coating, you don’t need any butter or oil while cooking either—very convenient during the sunflower oil crisis.

No induction
A small point to note: the pancake pan is suitable for use on all heat sources except induction. After cooking, the pan can go in the dishwasher, but washing it by hand is better for preserving the pan.
The Tefal Simplicity pancake pan has a diameter of 25 cm, costs €9.99 and is available in stores or from the Lidl webshop.
Do’s & don’ts
Ready to get started? Then read through these handy pancake-making tips first.
- Use fresh ingredients.
- Let the batter rest; 10 to 15 minutes already works wonders. Letting the batter rest for a while reduces the gluten and allows the starch in the flour to absorb the milk properly. This makes your pancake nice and smooth and gives it a better texture too (without lumps).
- Don’t mix your batter for too long. The longer you beat the batter, the tougher your pancake will become. That’s because beating introduces more and more gluten into the batter, making the pancake firm rather than light and tender.
- Don’t flip the pancake too soon. I was once given the tip by a pancake maker that you can flip the pancake when the edges come away from the pan and the bubbles in the middle have burst. Happy baking!
