Lidl is the best supermarket for fresh meals
More and more people are choosing convenience and great taste when it comes to their (evening) meal. A fresh meal like this—anything that is ‘ready to eat’ or ‘ready to heat’—is therefore a logical choice. But where can you find the best fresh meals? GfK conducted research into this, and Lidl came out on top.
Research into fresh meals
GfK (Gesellschaft für Konsumforschung) is a market research institute originally from Germany and one of the four largest market research organizations in the world. For GfK’s research into fresh meals, customers assessed the fresh meals from various national supermarket chains on around 15 aspects. The quality, taste and low price of Lidl’s fresh meals were decisive in the final result.
Vegetarian/vegan selection
The other aspects on which the fresh meals were assessed included variety, a wide selection of healthy products, the appearance of the shelf, an innovative range and the vegetarian/vegan selection—Lidl recently expanded its range with a vegetarian ready-made lasagna and a falafel meal salad.
GfK’s conclusion: “Lidl shows that convenience, great taste and attractive prices can go perfectly well together!”
