McDonald’s places exercise bikes in its restaurants

We all know by now that a visit to Maccie isn’t exactly the healthiest snack. And unfortunately, the days when I could eat whatever I wanted without gaining weight are long gone, so after a visit to McDonald’s, I book a workout class. But what if you could simply do both at the same time?

Yesss, because McDonald’s in China is really getting things right: they have placed exercise bikes in a number of restaurants. That way, you can burn off the calories you’re taking in right away. Okay, not all of them, of course — but it’s a start.
Win-win situation
But there’s more. Not only can you enjoy your Big Mac while working out, you can also connect your phone — which then gets charged while you’re cycling. Honestly, I think it’s a brilliant plan.
Personally, I think it would be pretty annoying to eat a big burger like the Big Mac while cycling too, but with a portion of Chicken McNuggets, I could definitely hop on that bike. In any case, I’m actually surprised this hasn’t already become a hit outside China too. So, Maccie: when can we expect this in the Netherlands?
