Mega stink: tropical stinky fruit causes evacuation of shopping street in Goes

The package contained a durian. The notorious fruit from Indonesia and Malaysia is known for its pungent smell. Durian stinks so terribly that the tree it grows on may not be planted in public parks because of the unbearable odor it spreads. And it is the only fruit in the world with a genuine flight ban.
Street evacuated
The package had been delivered to the Primera on Sint Adriaanstraat. The unbelievable stench made it suspicious, so the fire department opened the box. As a precaution, the street was evacuated for a short time. When it turned out to be a durian, the street was reopened. How the package containing the durian—wait, a flight ban!—ended up at the Primera is still unknown.
Never again

I would describe it as: vanilla custard with fresh vomit, garlic, mature cheese and moldy socks, with a strong whiff of open sewer. Durian: you love it or hate it. I belong to the latter category.”
