Meryl Streep in Your Fries – and 19 More Weird Pictures
Sometimes the internet seems like a random collection of cat videos, conspiracy theories, impossible recipes and very strange creative outbursts. In the last category: a designer who photoshops pictures of Meryl Streep into food photos. Why?
The Instagram account Taste of Streep is a collection of food photos into which the head of the world-famous actress has been very artfully pasted. A bizarre collection, and you just keep clicking, while asking yourself: why? Samantha Raye is the brains behind these photos, and she cannot really give a logical explanation herself either. ‘Meryl Streep just seems like a very cool person to me,’ she tells Yahoo. ‘When I read interviews with her or see her on television, I get the impression that she has a great sense of humor. So that’s how I got the idea.’
The explanation does not make it any clearer, and browsing through the photos probably will not make a light bulb go off either. But maybe it is simply what it is: pictures of Meryl Streep in kale, pumpkin pie or sushi, and that is funny. Nothing more.
