New record: this is the longest frikandel in the world
Our hearts swell with pride when it comes to our country’s culinary specialities. Take the frikandel, for example. You can laugh about it, but this golden-brown stick of joy even has its own holiday. On 4 February, we celebrate National Frikandel Day. What can vary, though, is the size of the snack, which on a bread roll is also known in the snack bar world as an ‘open leg’ or ‘open back’. A colossal frikandel has now been produced.
Frikandellen come in the standard size you buy at the snack bar, but also as mini bar snacks and even in XL. And recently, an even larger frikandel measuring no less than around 15 metres has been added.
New record: this is the longest frikandel in the world
Because the guys from the YouTube channel StukTV managed to break the record last week. Previously, the longest frikandel in the world was 7.5 metres long, but that record has now been well and truly broken. The gigantic frikandel was first boiled and then fried in a 15-metre-long deep fryer. Quite a challenge, because if the frikandel breaks, the world record does not count. But they succeeded, making the frikandel measuring exactly 15 metres and 60 centimetres the longest in the world.
