New trend in Amsterdam: the pizza float-in!
Corona creativity continues to develop among hospitality entrepreneurs and enthusiasts. Besides the familiar food-truck drive-through, it’s now time for another mode of transport: the float-in! The first places where you can moor have already announced themselves.
Table d’Eau “Uit Vuur & Vlam”
In no time, brother and sister Cijn and Vasso Prins, together with friends, got their adorable “Table d’Eau” off the ground. They both work in the hospitality and festival industry, and now that the boredom is really setting in and the sun is starting to shine more brightly, they decided to make the best of the situation. What helps: their beautiful house on the water at Bickersgracht. Together with friends, they run the show, and you can sail (or walk/cycle/crawl) by every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 18:00 and 21:00 for pizza or shakshuka with naan bread. Delicious! Hannekes Boot
And Hannekes Boom, the beautiful spot on the Amsterdam IJ, now has a real float-in too. Normally, it’s buzzing with locals (and lots of) tourists enjoying the view. They already have to miss the tourists and locals, and to make matters worse, a boating ban in the city center was also introduced! Fortunately, it has now been lifted, and Hannekes Boom has been transformed into Hannekes Pizza Boot. Sail by and pick up a pizza (between €9 and €13.50), salad or bottle of wine. Febo first
We all know who was first: FEBO. FEBO’s 75th anniversary was celebrated with a float-in. And I have to admit, this looks incredibly cozy! Unfortunately, the vending machine isn’t corona-proof, but the Prinsengracht filled with all kinds of food stalls? I can definitely see it happening!
